Bedrooms

In total the Big White House has nine bedrooms two double bedrooms, five twin bedrooms and two bunk bedrooms (one of which also has an additional single bed) each of the bedrooms also have an en-suite toilet and wash hand basin and also security boxes for storing personal belongings, along with wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside tables with lamps.

Lounge and Dining Room

The ground floor lounge (adjacent to the dining area) has seating for seven people, coffee table and Digital TV; making it the ideal place to relax after a big meal or a day of excitement. In addition there is also a game of 'Giant Jenga' – which is always fun! The dining area has large table with seating for up to twenty people, the dining table can also be arranged into smaller groups of tables (if this is desired).

Kitchen

The large kitchen has pretty much everything that you would need, there are: gas hob (with five burners), two eclectic ovens, two grills, two toasters, microwave, constantly boiling water vendor, two dishwashers, huge fridge and freezer as well as washing machine and dryer (coin operated) as well as a full inventory of utensils, crockery and cutlery. There is normally a lot going on in here (might be best avoiding this place at cooking times – however be prepared to wash up!).

Pool Table Room

So why not set up a tournament but make sure to start early as it may last well into the small hours. Also if your game is not going too well there is also a TV with DVD.

Clothes Drying Room

This room is equipped with everything you will need to dry off after a day of walking; there is a building dryer in here along with clothes horses for hanging wet coats and shoe rack. There is also an ironing board and iron plus a spare push chair and a baby back pack to carry the very small.

Hall

The hall-way with stairs to the first floor, and foosball table (we weren’t quite sure what to do in here!)

Bath and Shower Rooms

The Big White House has three bath/shower rooms; the first shower room is on the ground floor and has a shower cubicle, toilet and wash hand basin. The other two are on the first floor. The first floor bathroom has a bath with shower over and toilet and wash basin. Finally the big bathroom has a bath with shower over, toilet and wash basin. In addition each of the bedrooms also have an en-suite toilet with wash basin. (So there shouldn’t be a queue for the toilet in the morning…)

Snack Kitchen

The smaller snack kitchen is located on the first floor and is ideal for creating the perfect midnight snack or solving an attack of the munchies. This kitchen has an electric hob, fridge, and microwave and is equipped with utensils, crockery and cutlery. There is also a table with seating for four.

Tourist Information Room

The tourist information and meeting room has lots of information leaflets and menus for the pubs in the local area. This room is also ideal for meetings as it has a large table with chairs and also a white board (it’s also a great room for a game of Pictionary!)

TV & Computer Room

The television and computer room is a great place to escape from Mums and Dads, here you can surf the internet or watch TV or a DVD. The leather sofa and chairs provide seating for five. The Big White House also has Wi-Fi access, so you can bring your own laptop or you can use the computer.

Television Lounge

This lounge has comfortable sofa seating for five/six with a large TV and stereo system.

Summer House and Garden

Outside the Big White House is a huge parking area (where you can park almost 20 cars!) there is also the summerhouse and garden. The summerhouse is the perfect ‘male’ get-away with views over the Solway. The large garden has a huge lawned area (great for a game of footy with all the family) or even a bouncy castle! The garden also has picnic tables and two barbeques. Finally in the garden there is a secure lock-up which is great for storing mountain bikes, canoes etc. (for more information about this – please ask).
